Commercial / In Development Eden Hall

Eden Hall

"A Psychological Survival Horror game based on the abandoned Chapel, Eden Hall in Torresdale Pennsylvania."

Developer: Martimus
Engine: RPG Maker VX
Genre: Puzzle
Downloads: 177

Eden Hall is a Chapel established by the Society of the Sacred Heart. The property was originally a private estate, and was purchased by the sisters in 1847. Frank Wills, a noted English Ecclesiological revival architect, designed the 35 by 45 foot building in 1849. A few prominent people have been linked to the site over the years, including St. John Neumann, two aunts of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and St. Katharine Drexel, whose parents were entombed in a crypt adjacent to the chapel but have since been disinterred.

The boarding school closed in the late 1970s due to financial issues, and the complex fell into disrepair. Most of the buildings, including classrooms, dormitories, a library, a gymnasium and passages connecting them all, were destroyed by a major fire on Jan. 31, 1979. The buildings were demolished shortly thereafter, although much of the original stone foundations are still believed to remain underground. After the initial closing of the school, Joseph C. Fluehr Sr. protected the property from becoming residential real estate, and the park that the school once stood on was named Fluehr Park in his memory in 1985; it is currently under the jurisdiction of the Fairmount Park Commission.

In Development Ritual Bout

Ritual Bout

Engine: Unity
Genre: Fighting
Status: In development
Platforms: Steam, possibly mobile

Ritual Bout is a Fighting game under development through the Unity Engine. It's a project that has been on hiatus for a while due to lack of funding. The game is about a selection of the greatest broken fighters of all time who face each other through the occult and the use of specific motions referred to as ritual motions. Unlike other fighting games that are more free in motion, such as the Tekken games with their Limb and Key System, this game is specifically focused on the ritual motions in a bout style combat where move-sets are limited.

It's a simple combatant game. So far, 10 characters in total have been planned for its initial future release. 10 Stages have already been developed too. With the loss of the original project files, Ritual Bout has had a complete overhaul. It's intended for release via Steam and possibly a mobile app platform.

Game Features
  • Bout style combat built around ritual motions
  • Limited, focused move-sets
  • 10 characters planned for the initial release
  • 10 stages already developed
  • Occult themed roster of broken fighters
  • Rebuilt from scratch in Unity
